Description

ENER-TERRA HF is a powerful yet completely biodegradable, safe non-corrosive All Purpose industrial Hydrofluoric acid replacement cleaner used in the oil and gas industry for removal of tough water and silica scale, organic soil and rust stains. Unlike other products that remove scale which cause dangerous corrosive vapors, ENER-TERRA HF has no harsh fumes or *VOC’s making it very safe to use.

HF (Hydrofluoric Acid)  is not good for descaling whereas  ENER-TERRA HF  is very effective particularly on silicate scale (very predominant in the oilfields).   Using HF to dissolve scale containing calcium carbonate will fizz momentarily then stops ,calcium fluoride coats the scale crystals and blocks further dissolution . The same application using ENER-TERRA HF continues to fizz until the  carbonate scale is completely dissolved or the product is exhausted to where dissolution cannot take place hence the recommendation to circulate descalers to maximize the dissolution of scale.  ENER-TERRA HF contains no free fluorine, is non-corrosive to the skin (classed as a mild irritant), it does not bio-accumulate whereas (HF does) If you do ingest ENER-TERRA HF, it will be eliminated naturally, HF obviously does not.

ENER-TERRA HF does not exhibit any of the undesirable properties and hazards of HF.

 

*VOC’s (VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS): In addition to contributing to ozone and smog formation, VOCs can have direct adverse effects on human health. Many VOCs have been classified as toxic and carcinogenic and it is therefore unsafe to be exposed to these compounds in large quantities or over extended periods of time.
